Sri Lanka, April 20 -- Sri Lanka Police have arrested 98 individuals with open warrants during a series of special island-wide crime prevention and anti-narcotics operations conducted across all police divisions.
The coordinated operations, carried out at divisional level covering all local police stations, were aimed at apprehending suspects linked to ongoing criminal activities nationwide.
Police said that during the island-wide raids, a total of 26,600 individuals were searched. From those, 608 persons were taken into custody on suspicion.
