India donates 134 cabs to Sri Lanka police
Sri Lanka, May 25 -- The Government of India today officially handed over a consignment of 134 single cabs donated to the Sri Lanka Police under the Indo-Sri Lanka Friendship Programme to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat.
The donation, valued at approximately Rs. 300 million, is intended to strengthen policing services in the Northern Province, with the vehicles scheduled to be distributed among police stations in the region.
Speaking at the event, Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha said India would continue to extend similar assistance to Sri Lanka in the future.
