The rescued sailors were initially treated at Karapitiya Teaching Hospital before some were moved to secure facilities.

Authorities have now confirmed that 22 rescued sailors have been transferred to the Koggala Air Force Base, while several others remain hospitalised.

Meanwhile, post-mortem examinations have been conducted on 84 bodies, and Iran has announced that the remains will soon be repatriated to Tehran with the cooperation of Sri Lankan authorities.

Iranian officials said 84 of the recovered bodies have already been identified, with arrangements underway for their return.
