SriLanka, Oct. 21 -- A 56-year-old holiday resort owner was found murdered near the 4th Mile Post Junction in Trincomalee, with police suspecting that the killing took place on the night of October 20.

According to Trincomalee Police, an emergency alert was received reporting that the victim's throat had been slit, prompting officers to launch an investigation into the incident.

The deceased has been identified as a resident of Sinhapura, Trincomalee. Preliminary investigations revealed that he was alone within the resort premises at the time of the attack.

The motive behind the murder has not yet been established. Trincomalee Police are continuing investigations to identify, locate and arrest the suspects involved in the killing.
