Sri Lanka, Sept. 30 -- Showers or thundershowers are expected in most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. tomorrow (October 1), as atmospheric conditions become favourable for afternoon thundershowers, the Meteorological Department said.

Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, Eastern and North Central provinces.

The Department advised the public to take adequate precautions to minimise possible damage caused by temporary localised strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Misty conditions are also expected in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces during the early hours of the morning.
