Sri Lanka, April 21 -- The Meteorology Department says showers or thundershowers will occur in most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. today (21).
According to the weather forecast issued at 5.30 a.m., heavy rainfall exceeding 100mm is likely at some locations in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara and Anuradhapura districts.
Misty conditions are expected in the early hours of the morning in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, North-Central and Uva provinces, along with the Galle, Matara and Kurunegala districts.
The general public has been advised to take necessary precautions to minimise damage caused by temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
