Sri Lanka, March 27 -- Health authorities have warned of a notable increase in temperatures across Sri Lanka due to prevailing climatic conditions, including high humidity, increased water vapour, low wind speeds, and strong solar radiation.
According to Secretary to the Ministry of Health and Mass Media, Anil Jasinghe, the current heat conditions are having a growing impact on public health.
He stressed that while the general population is affected, children, the elderly, and individuals with chronic illnesses are particularly vulnerable.
Authorities cautioned that prolonged exposure to high temperatures could result in dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
