Sri Lanka, March 30 -- The Examinations Department has announced that the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination for 2026 will be held on Sunday, August 9.

According to a media release issued by the Department, applications for the examination will be accepted online from March 30 to April 30. The application portal will close at midnight on April 30, and authorities emphasized that the deadline will not be extended under any circumstances.

Only students currently studying in Grade 5 at government schools or government-approved private schools are eligible to sit for the examination. Scholarships will be awarded to low-income students who are under the age of 11 as of January 31, 2027.
