Sri Lanka, Sept. 16 -- The government has approved the completion of ground-level roads using local funds through the current contractor and the resumption of construction work on the Gatambe flyover.
Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said the Kohuwala and Gatambe flyovers were initiated under framework agreements for financial cooperation between Sri Lanka and the Hungarian government.
However, with the suspension of funding by the Hungarian Exim Bank due to the economic crisis at the time, the Kohuwala flyover was completed using contractor funds and opened for public use.
