Sri Lanka, Feb. 5 -- Sri Lanka has officially completed the island-wide rollout of the GovPAY digital traffic fine payment system, marking a major milestone in the country's digital governance drive.
The nationwide rollout, completed on February 3, 2026, now covers all nine provinces, allowing motorists to pay traffic fines electronically from any location and promptly retrieve their driving licences without delays.
According to officials, the platform has already processed more than 86,000 transactions, generating over Rs. 115 million in digital collections. In addition to online payments, cash payments are now accepted through more than 55,000 Dialog eZ Cash merchant outlets across the country, expanding access to the service.
