Government mulls action against all connected to Airbus deal
Sri Lanka, Sept. 8 -- Following the arrest of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) National Organiser Namal Rajapaksa in connection with the controversial Airbus deal, Transport Minister Bimal Rathnayake said the Government was not engaged in political revenge and was only acting within its legal mandate.
Speaking to reporters, the Minister said the investigation should not be limited to one or two individuals, stressing that everyone connected to the alleged wrongdoing must be brought before the law.
He said the alleged bribery linked to a transaction involving the purchase of wide-body aircraft for SriLankan Airlines had been established through proceedings at the London High Court.
