Sri Lanka, April 25 -- Claiming that the government has undertaken significant work to ensure transport safety, Minister of Transport and Highways Bimal Rathnayake said today that the government is planning to significantly reduce the number of deaths caused due to road accidents by the year 2029.

The Minister said the government has taken numerous steps to gradually reduce more than 2,700 deaths caused annually due to road accidents.
