Sri Lanka, Oct. 5 -- The Court of Appeal today ordered that the six-year prison sentence imposed on Bodu Bala Sena General Secretary Ven. Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera take effect from today (05), following the Supreme Court judgment that annulled the presidential pardon granted to him by former President Maithripala Sirisena.

Following the order, Gnanasara Thera was taken to Welikada Prison by prison officials.

A two-judge Bench of the Court of Appeal, comprising Justice Mayadunne Corea and Justice Lakmali Karunanayake, made the order following a request by the Attorney General.
