Sri Lanka, Oct. 27 -- The Department of Immigration and Emigration will introduce an online appointment booking system for passport applications at five regional offices from October 29.

The system will be mandatory for applicants seeking passports under both the One-Day Service and Normal Service at the regional offices in Matara, Kandy, Kurunegala, Vavuniya and Jaffna, the Department said.

Applicants must visit the Department's official website and select the "Book an Appointment to Obtain a Passport at a Regional Office" option to reserve a date and time before visiting the selected office.
