Sri Lanka, Sept. 8 -- The Principal of Buonavista College in Galle was arrested by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 250,000.

According to CIABOC, the principal was arrested yesterday inside a shop located along the Galle-Habaraduwa road during an operation conducted by its investigative officers.

The arrest followed a complaint made by a resident of the Galle area over the admission of her two children to the school. CIABOC said the principal had initially demanded Rs. 600,000, at a rate of Rs. 300,000 for each child.
