Colombo, Oct. 4 -- Fresh investigations into the death of ruggerite Wasim Thajudeen have been launched based on the disclosures made by Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) local politician Sampath Manamperi, who was remanded over a drug case, Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa said yesterday.

Sampath Manamperi is being interrogated under a 90-day detention order in connection with the discovery of two containers of chemicals suspected to be used in the manufacture of the drug "ICE".

The Minister told the media that investigations into the death of Thajudeen have been launched through the avenues opened following the interrogation of Manamperi.
