Freedom march for Gnanasara Thera enters second day, heads to Kegalle
Sri Lanka, Oct. 11 -- A six-day freedom march demanding the release of Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera, who is currently in prison, entered its second day today (11), with participants scheduled to march from Kadugannawa to Kegalle.
The march began yesterday (10) from the Mahamaluwa of the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, with a large number of people, including members of the Maha Sangha, calling for the immediate release of the Thera.
The first day's march concluded in Kadugannawa.
The march comes due to public debate over Gnanasara Thera being brought to court in civilian clothes while serving his prison sentence.
