Sri Lanka, Feb. 18 -- Colombo Fort Magistrate Isuru Neththi Kumara today ordered that former Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake be released on bail over allegations that he aided and abetted an incident which caused a loss exceeding Rs. 150 million to the Government.

The loss is alleged to have occurred during the tenure of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, in connection with a private visit to London to attend the graduation ceremony of his wife, Professor Maithree Wickremesinghe.

The Magistrate ordered that he be released on two surety bails of Rs. 20 million each.
