Sri Lanka, Oct. 23 -- A man posing as an officer of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) was arrested in Polonnaruwa yesterday.

According to the CIABOC, the suspect, a Group GPS Monitoring Manager of a private company in Polonnaruwa - was arrested by its investigating officers in Polonnaruwa.

The suspect was arrested following a confidential information received by the Commission.

The suspect is accused of preparing a fake identity card identical to an official CIABOC ID and using it to pose as a Commission officer to influence government officials in the performance of their duties.

The suspect would be produced before the Polonnaruwa Magistrate's Court.
