Sri Lanka, May 12 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today that the law will be implemented against anyone, while stressing that everyone must abide by the law irrespective of their positions.

Speaking at the special District Coordination Committee meeting in Matale, the President said there were groups who expected that the law will never be implemented against them.

"They cannot bear when the law is implemented against them. They were above the law. They never expected that the law will be implemented against them," he said.

The President said if anyone's name is mentioned during an investigation, a statement must be recorded from that person.

"We do not need a culture where recording a statement is considered a disaster," ...
