Sri Lanka, Sept. 29 -- The Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini has confirmed the death of a Sri Lankan national, Mr. Kishanth Peramaiya, who was temporarily residing in the country under an arrangement with the Government of the United Kingdom.

According to an official statement issued by the Eswatini Government, authorities in Eswatini and the United Kingdom had been engaged in consultations regarding Mr. Peramaiya's potential long-term residency in the Kingdom at the time of his death.

The statement, signed by Acting Government Spokesperson Thabile Mdluli on September 28, 2026, confirmed that discussions between the relevant authorities were ongoing.
