Sri Lanka, Oct. 9 -- Energy Minister Eng. Kumara Jayakody did not respond to the question raised in Parliament by MP Ravi Karunanayake under the headline "Threat of power cuts looms?" published in today's Daily Mirror.

MP Karunanayake had raised the issue in Parliament as a national concern, seeking clarification on whether the news item was true or false and urging a prompt response. He also highlighted that the Electricity Engineers' Union had decided to commence a work-to-rule campaign from last evening, which could potentially affect the nation's power supply.
