Sri Lanka, Aug. 14 -- A 67-year-old man with a fondness for chocolates was brutally assaulted to death in Peradeniya after allegedly stealing a small slab of chocolate from a shop.

Police said two men carried out the fatal attack. The owner of the shop and one of his employees have been arrested in connection with the incident.

The 67 year old victim was a resident of Eeriyagama in Peradeniya and father of two children. He had been living with his wife after his children got married and settled in other areas.

When he visited the town to buy provisions, two men in the shop had dragged him into the shop and assaulted him since the shops CCTV had recorded him stealing chocolates on the previous day.
