Sri Lanka, Aug. 4 -- The draft Bill proposing to extend the retirement age of judges by two years has been forwarded to the Department of Government Printing for publication in the Government Gazette, Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara told Parliament today.

The Minister said the Attorney General granted legal clearance for the draft legislation on July 31. It was subsequently approved by the Cabinet of Ministers before being sent to be published in the Government gazette.

Responding to a question from Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, Minister Nanayakkara said the draft Bill would be tabled in Parliament one week after its publication in the Government Gazette.
