Sri Lanka, Nov. 3 -- The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) has introduced a prior appointment system for all same-day services provided at its Narahenpita head office, effective from November 2.

Commissioner General of Motor Transport, retired Air Vice Marshal Thushara Fernando, said customers seeking same-day services must obtain an appointment before visiting the department.

Appointments can be made by calling 117 116 with the relevant area code (011 2 117116 for Colombo) or through the department's official website at https://dmtappointments.dmt.gov.lk.

The new system applies to services including new vehicle registration, transfer of vehicle ownership, driving licence-related services and the resolution of technical issues.
