Sri Lanka, Sept. 20 -- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Employment Arun Hemachandra will lead a Sri Lankan delegation to Qatar from September 20 to 23 for the Sri Lanka-Qatar Joint Committee Meeting on labour and foreign employment cooperation.

The Joint Committee is being reconvened after more than five years and is expected to provide a platform for both countries to review existing cooperation and identify areas for further collaboration.

Discussions will focus on expanding employment opportunities for Sri Lankan workers, promoting safe, transparent and responsible recruitment practices, strengthening worker welfare and protection, developing skills, and improving institutional coordination between the two countries. ...
