Delft-bound boat in distress, Navy rescues 10
Srilanka, Aug. 16 -- All 10 people on board a passenger boat that encountered distress while travelling from Kurikattuwan to Delft have been rescued by the Sri Lanka Navy.
The boat, carrying eight passengers and two operators, ran into difficulties amid adverse weather and rough sea conditions along the route. Despite weather warnings issued for the area, the vessel had proceeded with the journey towards Delft.
Following the distress incident, the Sri Lanka Navy launched a rescue operation and brought all 10 people to safety.
The rescued individuals were subsequently admitted to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for medical treatment.
