Sri Lanka, Dec. 15 -- A defect in the braking system has been identified in the vehicle of former Speaker and National People's Power (NPP) Parliamentarian Asoka Ranwala, which was involved in an accident in Sapugaskanda on Thursday (11).

Police Media Spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent of Police F. U. Wootler, said that while the vehicle inspection report has been received, the medical report of MP Ranwala has not yet been submitted to the police.

According to the vehicle inspection report, the jeep driven by MP Ranwala had not been properly maintained and was found to have a defect in its braking system.
