Colombo, Dec. 29 -- Sri Lanka Customs has recorded a historic high in revenue collection, earning Rs. 2,497 billion during the year, Customs Media Spokesman Chandana Punchihewa said.

He noted that the Ministry of Finance had initially set a revenue target of Rs. 2,115 billion for 2025, which was surpassed by November. As a result, the target was revised upward to Rs. 2,231 billion by November, but this revised target has also now been exceeded.

Punchihewa said the revenue target for 2025 had been significantly increased from Rs. 1,531 billion last year, factoring in the decision to permit vehicle imports during the year.
