Sri Lanka, Nov. 6 -- Electricity Distribution Lanka (Pvt) Ltd has introduced an online facility allowing customers to check whether the nearest electricity transformer has sufficient capacity to accommodate rooftop solar power systems before submitting an application.

Previously, customers could determine whether the transformer serving their area had sufficient capacity only after submitting an application, causing inconvenience and delays.

Acting on the directives of the Ministry of Energy, Electricity Distribution Lanka (Pvt) Ltd, a successor entity to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), has introduced the online system to address this issue.
