Sri Lanka, Aug. 19 -- A crosstalk arose in Parliament today on the proposed meeting of a delegation from the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) and Members of Parliament with Leader of the House Bimal Ratnayake saying there is a procedural error with regard to the meeting tomorrow.

"Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa has no powers to call for such a meeting. The decision has to be made by the party leaders. There is a procedural error," Ratnayake said.

He also faulted the media for reporting on the meeting.

Premadasa, who responded, said he has briefed Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne on the meeting and has informed him to make arrangements for all MPs to participate in the meeting.
