Sri Lanka, March 30 -- The Gampaha Magistrate's Court today held that the takeover of the Frontline Socialist Party (FLSP) office in Yakkala by the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) was illegal and ordered the latter to hand over the office to the former.

Gampaha Additional Magistrate Shilani Perera ordered the JVP to hand over the said office to the FLSP after declaring that the takeover of the office was illegal, FLSP Secretary Pubudu Jayagoda said.

The court also held that the chasing away of FLSP members from the office was also illegal.

The FLSP filed a petition before the magistrate calling upon the judiciary to issue an order to the JVP to hand over the office to them.
