Court of Appeal upholds 15-year sentence for father convicted of raping daughter
Sri Lanka, Sept. 14 -- The Court of Appeal has dismissed an appeal filed by a man convicted of raping his biological daughter and affirmed the 15-year rigorous imprisonment sentence imposed on him by Hambantota High Court.
The Court of Appeal, comprising Justices Amal Ranaraja and Dr. Sumudu Premachandra, held that there was no merit in the appeal filed by an accused against his conviction for incestuous statutory rape.
The accused had been indicted over three alleged incidents of sexual abuse involving his biological daughter between October 1 and October 31, 2018.
