Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- An Office Assistant attached to the Fort Magistrate's Court has been arrested by officers of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) for allegedly soliciting and accepting a bribe of Rs. 500.

The suspect was arrested within the premises of the Fort Magistrate's Court.

According to the CIABOC, the arrest followed a complaint that the suspect had allegedly solicited and accepted the bribe on June 30, 2026, in exchange for issuing a copy of a court judgment relating to a concluded financial dispute case originally filed by the Colombo Fraud Investigation Bureau.

The CIABOC said its officers arrested the suspect after verifying the facts during the investigation.
