Sri Lanka, Sept. 1 -- Aloe vera is a medicinal plant long researched as a solution for gastritis and digestion. So, when brands market "Aloe Vera Yoghurt" as a health drink, the public naturally assumes it is good for adults, especially diabetics and gastric patients.

But what are we really drinking?

I checked the label of Aloe Vera Yoghurt, produced by one of the country's oldest conglomerates. It contains *10.8g of sugar per 100ml*. Another popular brand starting with the letter 'S' has similar sugar levels. Taste it and you will know why: it is very, very sweet. Clearly designed to attract children, not to heal adults.
