Sri Lanka, Sept. 8 -- The "Colombo Marathon - 2026" international marathon competition will be held at Galle Face Green, Colombo, on September 13, in conjunction with the 50th National Games.

The competition has been jointly organised by the Youth Affairs and Sports Ministry, the Sports Development Department and other relevant institutions.

A large number of local and international athletes are expected to participate in the event, which will feature four categories, a full marathon, half marathon, 10 km run and 5 km Fun Run.

The Cabinet of Ministers considered submissions made by the Youth Affairs and Sports Minister regarding the arrangements for the competition, including the proposed routes and prize money for the winners.
