Sri Lanka, Feb. 23 -- Coal in the ninth shipment has been found to be of inferior quality as per real-time data, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa said today.
Premadasa, who was speaking during a ceremony at the Kalyanarama Abinawarama Temple in Homagama, said only 250 MV of power has been produced out of the coal brought in the ninth shipment while it has been possible to produce 275 MV during the second time, whereas the average standard is to produce 300 Mv of power.
The ninth shipment he said has also been purchased from a South African supplier.
