SriLanka, March 22 -- The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) has decided to resume vehicle parking charges within the city from tomorrow (23).

Municipal Commissioner said parking management and fee collection will recommence from 6.00 a.m., following a decision taken by the Finance Standing Committee.

Parking charges were temporarily suspended from the 18th due to heavy traffic congestion and long queues near fuel stations.

However, authorities said the situation has since improved with the introduction of the QR code system and the vehicle number-based fuel distribution method.
