Sri Lanka, Aug. 4 -- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has summoned Sandra Perera, the personal secretary to former President Ranil Wickremesinghe, to provide a statement in connection with an investigation into a foreign trip allegedly funded using financial allocations from the Presidential Secretariat.

She arrived at the CID this morning for her statement to be recorded.

Meanwhile, former Presidential Secretary Saman Ekanayake has also been summoned to appear before the CID tomorrow (August 5) to give a statement regarding the same matter.

Earlier, the CID launched investigations into foreign trips undertaken by Ranil Wickremesinghe during his tenure as President.
