Srilanka, Oct. 5 -- China's plan to deploy a new hypersonic ballistic missile at a People's Liberation Army Rocket Force (PLARF) base near Taiwan likely targets U.S. air bases and ships in the Western Pacific, but it will also present new threats to the island country, according to defense experts.
An article titled "The Missiles Threatening Taiwan," published Monday in the The New York Times, cited the 2024 U.S. Department of Defense report on China's military power, noting China has stockpiled 3,500 missiles, a 1.5-times increase compared with four years prior.
