Sri Lanka, Oct. 14 -- All trade unions of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) have decided to suspend their trade union action that they had launched from September 4.
CEB Engineers' Union Executive Committe member Dhanushka Parakramasinghe said that the decision was taken following a discussion with Energy Minister Kumara Jayakody last evening.
He said the Minister has agreed to the 24 proposals of the trade unions and has assured to give a written assurance and added that all trade unions have decided to suspend the trade union action soon after they receive ther written assurance from the Minister.
He said the Minister's written assurance is expected within today.
