Colombo, Sept. 24 -- Several trade unions of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) have decided to temporarily suspend the strike that was scheduled for tomorrow (25) in protest against the government's decision to divide the CEB into four entities.

The unions had launched a work-to-rule campaign on September 4, based on several demands.

Union representatives said the strike was suspended following an agreement to hold discussions with the authorities. However, they confirmed that the work-to-rule action will continue until further notice.
