Sri Lanka, May 12 -- The Cabinet has approved the awarding of seven construction contracts for Phase 2 of Section 3 of the Central Expressway Project from Rambukkana to Galagedara.

The project, spanning from km 13+800 to km 32+450, will be implemented using government funds through competitive procurement among qualified local contractors.

According to the government, the contracts were awarded following recommendations by the High-Level Standing Procurement Committee.

Package 2A was awarded to Maga Engineering Private Limited for Rs. 14.90 billion excluding VAT, while Package 2B was awarded to K. D. A. Weerasinghe & Company Private Limited for Rs. 14.71 billion excluding VAT.
