Sri Lanka, Sept. 23 -- Two businesses have been fined after being found distributing imported baby diapers without mandatory information identifying the registered importer.

The action followed complaints received by the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) concerning the quality of baby diapers, including reports of diapers tearing and deteriorating during use.

As part of an island-wide investigation and raid programme, CAA officials inspected establishments in Dehiwala and Dematagoda and found imported diapers being distributed without the required name, address, telephone number or website details of the registered importer.
