Sri Lanka, July 16 -- The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) has conducted 52 special raids targeting private hospitals and medical laboratories across the country to ensure consumer health and safety.

The island-wide operation, carried out in all districts, uncovered several serious violations related to medical laboratory materials and equipment used for patient testing and treatment.

During inspections at several leading private hospitals and laboratories, CAA officers found expired and unfit medical materials being stored alongside items currently in use. Investigators also identified concerns over the quality and suitability of certain laboratory supplies.
