Sri Lanka, Sept. 25 -- A surge in Influenza A H1N1 infections is currently being detected in Sri Lanka, with an increase in positive samples identified by the National Influenza Centre at the Medical Research Institute (MRI), Consultant Virologist Dr. Chrishan Jude Jayamaha said.

Dr. Jayamaha said laboratory surveillance at the National Influenza Centre had detected the recent increase in Influenza A H1N1 cases.

He said people should seek medical advice before taking medication for fever, body aches or other symptoms associated with influenza.
