Sri Lanka, April 13 -- The Lanka Coal Company (Pvt) Ltd has rejected claims circulating on social media regarding a telephone conversation linked to its emergency coal procurement process.

In a statement issued today (13), Chairman Jayanta addressed an audio recording currently being shared online, which allegedly captures a discussion between himself, the General Manager of the company, and an official representing the local agent of the coal supplier.

The Chairman said that the conversation, which took place on March 25, 2026, has been "distorted in various ways" before being circulated, particularly across social media platforms.
