Are Ministers behind USD 2.5 million theft, asks Namal
Sri Lanka, Sept. 10 -- Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Namal Rajapaksa said today that some senior Ministers sitting in the two front rows of Parliament may have been behind the alleged theft of USD 2.5 million.
"A large sum of funds cannot be transferred to a wrong bank account without the knowledge of Ministers," the MP told Parliament.
He also raised questions over alleged irregularities in the coal procurement, asking how the shipments could have been completed so quickly.
Meanwhile, Rajapaksa said the SLPP had been denied the ground it had requested to hold its rally.
"Suppression cannot stop our struggle," he said.
