Srilanka, Aug. 24 -- The Anuradhapura Magistrate's Court has imposed a fine of Rs. 200,000 on a supermarket in Anuradhapura for displaying electrical cord reels for sale without the required Sri Lanka Standards (SLS) certification.

The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) said its officers, during a raid conducted on August 18 at the Arpico Daily supermarket on 11th Street, Anuradhapura, found 'Samara' type electrical cords displayed for sale without the required SLS certification.

Following legal action by the CAA, the case was taken up before the Anuradhapura Magistrate's Court on August 21, when the court imposed the Rs. 200,000 fine.
