Sri Lanka, May 19 -- All Dansals organised across the island for the Vesak festival must be registered with the relevant area Medical Officer of Health (MOH), Health Services Director General, Specialist Dr. Asela Gunawardena said.

Issuing a statement, Dr. Gunawardena said the measure has been introduced to ensure that the public receives safe, clean and quality food during the Vesak season.

He instructed organisers to meet the Medical Officer of Health or the Public Health Inspector in their respective areas to obtain the necessary health guidelines and complete the required registration process before conducting Dansals.
